The Story Behind Our Sustainably Sourced Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate & Colostrum Ingredients

“Natural and Sustainably sourced ingredients.”

If you’ve been following PNP Supplements for a while, you’ve probably heard us mention that we’re switching to “all-natural” and whenever possible “sustainably sourced ingredients” in our supplements.

But what does that mean, exactly?

In short, it means we care about where our ingredients come from, and how these ingredients impact our beautiful planet and all the creatures that live here.

As often as possible, we choose all-natural ingredients that are harvested or grown in such a way that they are sustainable for the long-term. In this way, we’re helping to preserve many of the beautiful, all-natural ingredients that help us make our products.

Here’s a closer look at a few of these all-natural and sustainably sourced ingredients we’re using in Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate & Colostrum…

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE & BOVINE COLOSTRUM, THAT PROTECTS THE ENVIRONMENT

Cows are amazing creatures, and they can benefit the environment.

That’s why we only use whey protein Isolate and bovine colostrum from grass-fed cows to make our Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate & Colostrum supplement. This all-natural, grass-fed whey protein and colostrum comes from small dairy farms in Montana, where dairymen are committed to protecting the traditional way of dairy farming.

These holistic dairy farmers help with what is known as regenerative agriculture. Their cows play a key roll in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Pasture grazing requires significantly fewer fossil fuels than a feedlot diet. Pastured animals fertilize the land they graze on, which returns nutrients to the soil and eliminates the fossil fuels required by conventional fertilizing practices. And because these animals graze on grass, the land doesn’t have to be plowed to plant corn or feed, so deep-rooted grasses that prevent erosion flourish.

Returning cattle to the land can result in multiple benefits, including restoring soil microbial diversity, and making the land more resilient to flooding and drought. Grass-filled fields not only hold on to topsoil and moisture but also more effectively remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere which can help fight climate change better than other use of land. But it doesn’t require more land to produce the same amount of milk or beef.

For the actual whey protein itself, setting the bar for a higher quality whey protein supplement starts with the quality of life and food the cows have who supply the whey protein. Our whey is derived from the milk of these grass-fed dairy cows who graze pastures, which helps our environment and, in the process, avoid feedlots and the need for feed supplements and GMO foods. This naturally allows our cows to produce a purer and higher quality protein powder that is 100% free of artificial and harmful ingredients like rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone).

Bovine Colostrum is the early milk produced by cows during the first days after giving birth. These holistic dairymen very carefully remove the excess colostrum, that the calves don’t drink or need to help them grow to become strong, healthy, milk-producing cows themselves.

By only using the surplus colostrum, we never use anything that’s critical for a calf’s development or health. This allows our cow herds to thrive and ensures strong, healthy generations of milk-producing cows in the future.

Bovine colostrum boosts the immune strength, supports gut health and muscle repair efforts.

PROBIOTIC LACTOBACILLUS ACIDOPHILUS, THAT'S NATURALLY FROM THE PLANET

Let’s switch gears for a moment from whey protein and colostrum to probiotics. Probiotics are a combination of live beneficial bacteria that naturally live in us.

Probiotics are naturally found in the environment, but a problem we face today is that many foods that once provided probiotics lack the probiotics we need today for good digestion and health. Whether it be due to pesticides or overly processed foods, most people aren’t getting the probiotics they need to maintain good health.

Probiotics are made up of good bacteria that helps keep our body healthy and working well. Here are a few benefits probiotics provide us.

  1. Improve Gut Health and Digestion
  2. Boost Immune System Strength
  3. Reduce Digestive Disorders
  4. Improve Mental Health
  5. Balance Friendly Gut Bacteria
  6. Prevent and Treat Diarrhea
  7. Help Manage Weight . . . And more.

These are some of the reasons we’ve included probiotics in Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate & Colostrum. Specifically, we included 2 billion CFU of the probiotic strain lactobacillus acidophilus. One of the most naturally acid-resistant strains of probiotics, lactobacillus acidophilus provides a wide range of benefits from improving digestion and utilization of whey protein by the body to lowering the chance of stomach discomfort and lactose intolerance.

ALL-NATURAL FLAVORS WITH NOTHING ARTIFICIAL

When companies try to provide a “HEALTHIER” option for their products, one area that many companies overlook, are the ingredients used to flavor and sweeten their product.

When we formulated Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate & Colostrum, we wanted to make sure we didn’t use any artificial ingredients, which included the ingredients for flavoring. This keeps Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate & Colostrum 100% all-natural from start to finish.

So, what do we use to flavor Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate & Colostrum? We’re glad you asked!

For our Banana Crème flavor, we start with banana powder sourced from Central America. Here in the tropical climate, bananas are grown naturally and are harvested delicately by hand as they have been for decades.

For our Chocolate Cacao flavor, we start with all-natural cocoa sourced from South America, where the weather is perfect for growing the cocoa plan. Again, these cocoa plants are grown naturally and delicately harvested by hand as they have been for decades.

Next, we use a blend of all-natural stevia leaf extract and monk fruit extract to slightly sweeten Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate & Colostrum without adding sugar or the negative side effects of sugar.

This combination of ingredients provides an effective protein supplement that is healthy, all-natural, and good for the planet.

We invite you to try it for your self and see what you think.
