Almond Butter Protein Balls

One of the many challenges many of us we have, is satisfying our sweet tooth without overdoing it on the calories and sugar. I’ve struggled with this myself and the challenge seems even bigger during summer. A great option is to make a healthier option you can turn to when the sweet cravings hit instead of going for the back of chips or chocolate bar. I’m sure you’ve seen some variation of protein balls before. They’re a great snack that will keep you going between your meals. Check out the recipe below and let me know what you think in the comment box. Also, feel free to get creative with the recipe and add dark chocolate chips or any other ingredient you like.

Ingredients (makes 12 protein balls)

1 cup gluten free whole grain rolled oats

1/2 cup flaxseed

1 cup almond butter

1/3 cup honey

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup coconut

1/2 cup pecan pieces

1 scoop protein powder (For those looking to add extra protein)


Mix all the ingredients together until the mix becomes a patti. Chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Break the patti roll into 12 equal portions and roll into balls. Then roll the balls into a little extra coconut and chill until ready to eat. There you have it, a quick healthy snack to satisfy your sweet tooth!
